So Redoan Rony (RR) has made a decent start in film-making unlike other 'television drama' director cum film-maker in Bangladesh. Though I expected a bit more from 'Chorabali' by watching RR's versatile dramas and serials made for TV but I'm well satisfied with this.
Chorabali (Bengali: চোরাবালি, English: Quicksand) is a 2012 Bangladeshi action thriller film written and directed by Redoan Rony. It stars Indraneil Sengupta, Joya Ahsan, Shahiduzzaman Selim and many more. It was Rony's debut film. It released on 21 December 2012.
The film is produced by Pradip Churiwal of Macneill Engineering. Set in the backdrop of North Kolkata with its British Raj charm and as well as contrasting South Kolkata, like any other metropolis in India, the story is a classic who-dunnit thriller.
Synopsis This is a Bengali murder mystery movie. A famous psychiatrist was hosting a party and after few hours of the party, he was found dead in his bedroom. All the guests invited to the party are in a circle of suspicion.

Chorabali does that, in a steady flow, throughout the movie. Each actor, with the exception of Malabika, has done justice to their roles. Tonushree, however, deserves a shoutout for the way she has distinctly delineated both her characters — that of the author and the alter ego. Barun Chanda, our Poirot, holds the story together.
